Pressure washer spray wands are not universal. Raising water pressure from 2,000 to 3,000 psi increases the distance the user can hold the spray tip from a surface. The psi rating indicates a pressure washer’s ability to lift stuck-on dirt from a surface. Water pressure is measured in pounds per square inch (psi), and it’s the strength of the water stream the washer creates. Increasing the flow from 1.0 to 2.0 GPM flushes soil from a surface twice as fast. The GPM rating is a good indicator of a pressure washer’s power.
